The Blue Diamond, history and nature theme park!
The Blue Diamond is founded on new basis in the entertainment industry in Iceland; A historical- and natural theme park. The foundation of the theme park exists already and the development is founded on the principle to join together the poles of nature and history and create the enormous attraction, which the joint impact has to offer as well as strengthening the foundation to build on in the future.
The conception of the project – The Blue Diamond, is to seek answers to what we Icelanders are able to do in the future of tourism. Specialized tours are on the increase in the world today and tourism is perpetually finding new ways to distinguish itself. Tourists seek shorter tours and the need to experience history and nature in one day is continually increasing.
Reykjanes is Iceland’s doorstep and it’s environment and nature is unique in the world. The fact that energy is seething under our feet has shaped the whole environment on Reykjanes since Iceland rose from the sea. Though the peninsula seems level and mountains are scarce from the viewpoint of the tourist it is not entirely correct. Reykjanes is in fact the top of a volcano, which reaches far south into the Atlantic, and is in fact part of the longest ridge in the world. In this rough and unique nature you can find phenomenal geothermal areas, unique birdlife, rows of craters, exciting caves and hiking paths suitable for everyone in one of the most beautiful lava fields in Iceland.

- Saltfish Centre in Grindavík
- Flösin, a municipal museum
- Nature Knowledge Center in Sandgerði
- The Duus Culture and art Complex in Reykjanesbær
- and other smaller attractions.
This is called the Blue Diamond based on the idea that the area is in fact one big theme park that has a lot to offer, one big diamond instead of many fractions.
